Check that the person at your door really is ours
Anyone can say they are a keyholder. Before you let someone in, or before a neighbour does, these are the checks that actually settle it.
Call the number you already have
Not a number they give you. Use the number on your service agreement, or 07576 919599. We will confirm or deny it immediately.
Ask for the passphrase
Every client sets one at the survey. A genuine custodian attending your property can give it. Someone who cannot is not ours.
Check it against the schedule
Your attendances are on a fixed interval and you know the pattern. An unannounced visit outside it should be questioned.
If something feels wrong
Do not let them in, and do not feel awkward about it. Close the door, call us on the number you already hold, and we will tell you within a minute whether that person is ours and whether an attendance was scheduled. If they are not ours, call the police on 101, or 999 if you believe entry is being attempted.
We would far rather field a hundred unnecessary calls than have one person let in because refusing felt rude.
We will never ask you for your passphrase, your alarm code, or your bank details by telephone or email. If someone claiming to be from My Citi Services asks for any of those, it is not us.
Not sure who attended?
Call us and we will check the record while you wait.
